Georgia boys debate to represent Georgia in the United State Senate

Senator Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker meet for their first debate in Savannah

Savannah, Georgia – Both men are from Georgia and have their own unique claim to fame. One was the college football hero of the University of Georgia at Athens 1980 national championship, and went on to play 12 years in the National Football League. The other has been serving as within the Atlanta metropolitan community as a community advocate and as the pastor of Martin Luther King’s home church, Ebenezer Baptist Church, for the past 17 years.

In their first debate which could actually be their last, both candidates met in Savannah for a live-streamed event. There were multiple noteworthy discussions, but perhaps what was the most talked about event during the debate was Walker’s display of a sheriff’s badge and identifying himself as a public servant. The moment has gone viral and Walker is currently taking advantage of the publicity to promote his campaign.
